Overview

Enablers are focused on development of product identification, data management and processing capabilities that are needed to permit accurate and timely communication and registration of goods flow between trading partners.

EDI: is needed to easily communicate and manage orders, deliveries, invoices and payments, both within a company and between that company and their trading partners.
Data Warehousing: will be major driver of our ability to leverage efficiencies in Demand and Supply projects.
ABC: insights into sources of costs and the possible impact of different decisions are basic tool needed to manage demand and supply.
Normal evolution of supporting technologies - standardization of issues such as EDI message format, bar codes and articles numbers are a prerequisite for many ECR improvement concepts.
Current capabilities impact how efficiently ECR processes can be performed and the pace at which these practices can be rolled-out across all products.
Thus, companies must pay attention to these needs, both internally and with trading partners, but should not delay working together waiting for these technologies.
