Operational Excellence

Applying management methods to increase operations reliability such as out-of-stocks, defective products, late delivery and administrative errors.

The impact of unreliability in the supply chain is reflected in the availability of products to the consumer and in increased cost. It is therefore a fundamental pre-requisite for efficient product replenishment.

Operational Excellence focuses on the process, methods and tools available to monitor and assess the sources of problems, if any, and track resolutions.

There are three different considerations that focus on parts of the supply chain:

  • Reliable Store Operations: in-store inventory, layout and promotional activities, assess the sources of problems if any and track resolutions
  • Reliable Distribution: delivery efficiency
  • Reliable Production: production effectiveness
